Our church is led by a team of five elders.
Eirian Davies
Elder and full-time Pastor
Eirian moved to Cardiff in July 2022 to live on the Fishguard Road Estate and join the church as a full-time pastor. He grew up in Bridgend with his Christian parents and his two older brothers. At the age of 13, he was persuaded by a Christian that the good news about Jesus was true and decided to become a Christian himself. Eirian’s been married to Portia since 2014 and they have three children; twin boys and a girl.
After an office job in Exeter for 6 years, Eirian trained to be a church minister at Oak Hill College in London, where he became more and more convinced that the Bible gives us the best answers to life’s big questions.
Eirian loves rugby, running, coastal walks, camping, trips to the beach and living in north Cardiff! He’s also a fluent Welsh speaker.
John-Mark Frost
Elder
JM has been an elder of the church since a group from Highfields Church Cardiff came to support Llanishen Evangelical Church in 2006. He is married to Ruth and is the father of two teenage girls.
He is particularly passionate about missionary work, helps run the monthly food market and can often be found cooking in the kitchen during any outreach events involving food.
Steve Williams
Elder
Steve grew up in Cardiff and became a Christian at the age of 16 after being challenged with a simple question: “Are you a Christian?” This question prompted him to reflect on the truth of the Bible and its implications for his life. Steve loves serving alongside people in different ways in church life to help each other and those in the community, and to tell people about Jesus.
Steve is married to Julie, and together they have four children. The family live in Cardiff, having previously spent some time living in France. Steve enjoys doing sports, being outdoors and loves good food with friends and family!
James Vilares
Elder
James was born and raised in England, and he became a Christian just before moving to Wales for university. He loves football, DIY, cooking, and being part of the church family. He’s married to Beth and father to four kids (and one lazy dog).
Clive Morgan
Elder
Clive first came to the church with his wife Nicola over 20 years ago to help with youth work. They then decided to stay, and Clive became an elder in 2006. Clive and Nicola have 2 teenage children. Clive enjoys cricket, walking and camping. Clive is involved in pastoral care, leading a home group, and manages the church building.
Nicola Morgan
Safeguarding Officer
Nicola has lived in Cardiff over 25 years and has been a member at LLEC since 2006. Before joining, she had been involved in the children’s work at the church. Nicola teaches the children in Sunday club, plays cello in the music group and helps with the monthly food markets. Nicola works part time as a paediatrician and so has experience in safeguarding children. She is married to Clive and has 2 older teenage daughters.
